Acht Almeerse startups sluiten programma van UPALMERE! af bij Almere Changemakers

Acht startups hebben dinsdagavond bij Innovally in Almere het UP Validation Program van UPALMERE! afgerond. De Demo Day viel samen met de vijfde editie van Almere Changemakers. 

Elke startup presenteerde zijn bevindingen en één concrete hulpvraag aan founders, investeerders, partners en andere stakeholders uit het Almeerse ecosysteem. Die vragen liepen uiteen van een introductie of een pilotpartner tot een eerste klant, gebruikerstests, financiering en specifieke expertise.Tijdens het zes maanden durende programma toetsten de startups hun aannames in gesprekken met potentiële klanten. Wat niet standhield, viel af. Wat wel standhield, werkten ze verder uit. De deelnemende startups zijn Arsheeve.AI, BELONG NL, Evolvance, OrigoVero, PractAIce, Reachable AI, SmartKoop AI en Tjecko.

Wethouder Jan-Bert Vroege, met onder meer Economie en Innovatie in zijn portefeuille, schetste tijdens de avond zijn visie op Almere als stad waar innovatie kan groeien. De pitches vonden plaats tijdens een driegangendiner, zodat aanwezigen na elke presentatie aan tafel konden bespreken wie in hun netwerk de startup verder kon helpen. Volgens UPALMERE! verandert een concrete hulpvraag de rol van het publiek: van luisteraar naar iemand die een introductie kan maken. “Het was een leerzame en onvergetelijke reis, met momenten van genieten, maar soms ook confronterend. Dan kreeg je een harde realitycheck,” zegt Sven Vrind, co-founder van PractAIce.

Almere Changemakers is het terugkerende community evenement van UPALMERE!, waar ondernemers, experts en investeerders uit Almere en daarbuiten samenkomen om elkaar verder te helpen. Eight Almere startups complete validation program at Almere Changemakers

Eight startups completed UPALMERE!’s UP Validation Program at Innovally in Almere. The Demo Day coincided with the fifth edition of Almere Changemakers. Each startup presented its findings and one concrete ask to founders, investors, partners and other stakeholders from the Almere ecosystem. The asks ranged from an introduction or a pilot partner to a first customer, user testing, funding and specific expertise. Over the six-month program, the startups tested their assumptions in conversations with potential customers. They dropped what didn’t hold up and built on what did. The participating startups were Arsheeve.AI, BELONG NL, Evolvance, OrigoVero, PractAIce, Reachable AI, SmartKoop AI and Tjecko.

Alderman Jan-Bert Vroege, whose portfolio includes Economy and Innovation, shared his vision of Almere as a city where innovation can grow. The pitches took place over a three-course dinner, so after each presentation, guests could discuss at their tables who in their network could help the startup move forward. According to UPALMERE!, a concrete ask changes the role of the audience: from listener to someone who can make an introduction. “It was an unforgettable journey, and I learned a lot. There were moments of real enjoyment, but at times it was confronting too. You’d get a hard reality check,” says Sven Vrind, co-founder of PractAIce.
